John Wolford (born June 20, 1995) is an American professional football quarterback who plays for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL).
Early life and education
Wolford was born in Plano, Texas. He attended Plano West Senior High School, where he played high school football as a quarterback. He enrolled at Utah State University, playing for the Utah State Aggies from 2014 to 2018. As a senior, he earned second‑team All‑Mountain West honors and set school records for passing yards (4,581) and touchdowns (31).
Professional career

Arizona Cardinals (2019–2020): Wolford signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in May 2019. He spent the 2019 season on the practice squad and was elevated to the active roster in September 2020, serving primarily as a backup.

Los Angeles Rams (2020): In December 2020, Wolford was claimed off waivers by the Rams. He appeared in three regular‑season games, completing 13 of 22 passes for 122 yards and one interception.

Las Vegas Raiders (2021–present): Wolford signed with the Raiders in May 2021. He made his first start on September 12 2021 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, becoming the first seventh‑round draft pick to start a season‑opening game at quarterback in Raiders history.
