John Scrimgeour (Canadian politician)

John Scrimgeour was a Canadian politician in Manitoba. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the constituency of Brandon East from 1969 to 1977. He was a member of the New Democratic Party (NDP).

Scrimgeour was first elected in the 1969 Manitoba general election, defeating Progressive Conservative incumbent Reginald Lissaman. He was re-elected in the 1973 election. He did not seek re-election in the 1977 provincial election. During his time in the legislature, he served on various committees and was involved in debates related to social welfare, education, and labor issues.
