John Kosmina Medal

The John Kosmina Medal is an annual individual award in Australian football (soccer), presented to the Player of the Grand Final in the A-League Youth competition. The award is named in honour of John Kosmina, a highly respected figure in Australian football, known for his distinguished career as both a player and a coach.

First awarded at the conclusion of the 2008-09 National Youth League Grand Final, the medal recognises the most outstanding individual performance in the championship match of Australia's primary youth development league. It serves to highlight emerging talent and significant contributions during the culmination of the youth season.

Administered by Football Australia (formerly the Football Federation Australia, FFA), the John Kosmina Medal has become a prestigious recognition for young footballers, often seen as a stepping stone for players aspiring to professional careers in the A-League Men and beyond. Past recipients have frequently gone on to achieve success at higher levels of the sport, including representing their country or playing professionally overseas.
