John Galligan is a native of Madison, Wisconsin. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy and a Master of Arts in English Literature.
Career
Before becoming a novelist, Galligan worked in a variety of occupations, including newspaper journalist, feature-film screenwriter, house painter, au pair, ESL teacher, cab driver, and freezer boy in a salmon cannery. He has won awards as a feature journalist, sports journalist, and short story writer. He teaches writing at Madison College (Madison Area Technical College) in Madison, Wisconsin.
