John Donald Cameron

John Donald Cameron (January 1, 1893 – December 1, 1971) was a Canadian politician who served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1947 to 1966. Representing the Liberal-Progressive Party, he held the constituency of Carillon for six terms.

Born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, Cameron was the son of Donald M. Cameron and Margaret Morrison. He received his education in the public schools of Pilot Mound and Baldur. Before entering provincial politics, Cameron was a farmer and was actively involved in local community affairs, including serving on school boards and municipal councils.

Cameron's political career began with a by-election on December 22, 1947, when he successfully won the seat for Carillon. He was subsequently re-elected in the general elections of 1949, 1953, 1958, and 1959. Throughout his nearly two decades in the legislature, he was a member of the governing Liberal-Progressive caucus. Cameron chose not to seek re-election in the 1966 provincial election, concluding his legislative service.

He passed away on December 1, 1971, at the age of 78.
