Johannes Miemois

Johannes Miemois (April 17, 1866 – April 25, 1924) was a Finnish farmer and politician who served as a member of the Parliament of Finland. He represented the Swedish People's Party of Finland (Svenska folkpartiet i Finland).

Political Career Miemois was elected to the Finnish Parliament (Eduskunta) to represent the constituency of Vaasa Province North (Vaasan läänin pohjoinen vaalipiiri). His legislative service occurred across two separate periods:

  • 1917: He served from April 4, 1917, to October 30, 1917, a pivotal year in Finnish history that culminated in the nation's declaration of independence from the Russian Empire.
  • 1922–1924: He returned to parliament on September 5, 1922, and served until his death in 1924.

Throughout his time in office, he focused on the interests of the Swedish-speaking minority in Finland and the agricultural concerns of the Ostrobothnia region.

Personal Life Born and deceased in Vörå (Finnish: Vöyri), Miemois was a farmer by profession. His involvement in local and national politics was characteristic of the agrarian leadership within the Swedish People's Party during the early 20th century. He died while in office on April 25, 1924.
