João Pedro da Silva Teixeira (born 15 May 1996) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder.
Career
Club career
Born in Guimarães, Portugal, Teixeira began his youth career at Vitória SC in 2005. He later moved to União de Guimarães for two years before returning to Vitória SC in 2008, where he continued his development through their academy.Teixeira made his senior debut with Vitória SC B in the 2014–15 season, playing in the LigaPro (Portuguese second tier). He became a regular for the reserve side, making over 100 appearances and scoring 11 goals between 2014 and 2018. During this period, he also featured for the main Vitória SC team in the Primeira Liga (Portuguese top tier), making 32 appearances from 2015 to 2018.
Following his departure from Vitória SC, Teixeira continued his career in the Primeira Liga with Chaves during the 2018–19 season and Desportivo das Aves for the 2019–20 season. In 2020, he had a brief spell abroad with Romanian Liga I club FC Botoșani.
He subsequently returned to Portugal, playing for Vilafranquense in the Liga Portugal 2 during 2021. He then moved to the Campeonato de Portugal (Portuguese third/fourth tier) with Tirsense for the 2021–22 season, Vianense for the 2022–23 season, and joined Brito SC in 2023.
International career
Teixeira represented Portugal at various youth international levels. He earned 2 caps for the Portugal U18 team, 6 caps for the Portugal U19 team, and 1 cap for the Portugal U20 team.Career statistics
