Jerome Boyd

Jerome Boyd (born November 1, 1990) is an American former professional football player who played as a running back. He is noted for his collegiate career at Boise State University and for brief tenures with National Football League (NFL) teams, primarily the New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks.

Early life and education
Jerome Boyd was born in San Francisco, California. He attended Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, California, where he played high school football as a running back and contributed to the team's offensive production. He earned a scholarship to Boise State University, where he continued his athletic and academic pursuits.

College career
At Boise State (2009–2012), Boyd appeared in 49 games, amassing 2,095 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 438 carries, while also contributing as a receiver with 37 receptions for 336 yards and two receiving touchdowns. His senior season (2012) included a notable performance of 131 rushing yards against the University of Wyoming. Boyd earned All-Mountain West Conference honorable mention honors in his final year.

Professional career

New York Giants
After going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft, Boyd signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2013. He participated in the team's offseason program and preseason but was waived during final roster cuts on August 31, 2013. The Giants later added him to their practice squad on September 3, 2013, where he remained for the remainder of the season.

Seattle Seahawks
On January 7, 2014, Boyd signed a reserve/future contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He was released during final roster reductions on August 30, 2014, but was subsequently re-signed to the Seahawks' practice squad on September 2, 2014. He was promoted to the active roster on November 23, 2014, and appeared in three regular‑season games, recording two rushing attempts for three yards. Boyd was waived by Seattle on December 16, 2014, and re‑signed to the practice squad shortly thereafter.

Subsequent attempts
Following his stint with the Seahawks, Boyd participated in the 2015 training camp of the Detroit Lions but was released before the start of the regular season. No further NFL regular‑season appearances were recorded after 2014.
