Jermaine Beal (born November 4, 1987) is an American former professional basketball player. Standing at 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) and weighing 200 pounds (91 kg), he primarily played the shooting guard position. Beal is best known for his successful stints in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL), particularly with the Perth Wildcats, where he won a championship and Grand Final MVP award.
Early Life and College Career Born in South Bend, Indiana, Beal attended Jefferson High School in Dallas, Texas. After high school, he played college basketball for the Vanderbilt Commodores from 2006 to 2010. During his four years at Vanderbilt, Beal was a consistent scorer and playmaker. As a senior in the 2009–10 season, he averaged 14.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, earning second-team All-SEC honors.
Professional Career
NBA D-League (2010–2012) After going undrafted in the 2010 NBA draft, Beal joined the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League (now G League). He played for the Vipers for two seasons, showcasing his scoring ability and perimeter shooting.
