Jenny Murphy (born May 30, 1989) is an Irish rugby union player who represented Ireland at the international level. She played as a centre and was a member of the Ireland squad for the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. She also competed at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow, Russia.
Early Life and Background
Murphy played Gaelic football and soccer as a child. She played with Ballymore Eustace GAA during her formative years before signing a controversial transfer to Kilcullen GAA in 2001. She attended St Mary's University, Twickenham.
Rugby Career
Murphy played senior club rugby for Old Belvedere and represented Leinster at the provincial level. She earned caps for the Ireland women's national rugby union team, featuring across multiple Six Nations campaigns and World Cup squads. She was part of the Irish squad that won the Grand Slam in 2013, reached the World Cup semi-final in 2014, and won the Six Nations in 2015.
At the start of the 2018/19 season, Murphy began coaching the inaugural Naas RFC Women's team alongside Leinster and Ireland U20s player Adam Coyle. The team was promoted from Leinster Women's League Division 4 to Division 3 in their breakthrough season.
Other Activities
Murphy has worked as a casual fill-in host for the SportsJOE.ie Baz and Andrew's House of Rugby podcast. She has also worked as a qualified PE teacher and as a Mid Market Account Manager at Google. In 2017, she took a sabbatical from international rugby and took up boxing.

Murphy stands 1.77 m (5 ft 9½ in) tall and weighs 83 kg (183 lb).
