Jeffrey R. Taylor

Jeffrey R. Taylor is an American attorney and former politician who served in the Idaho State Senate.

Early Life and Education: Born on October 26, 1957, Jeffrey R. Taylor pursued his higher education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona. He subsequently obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

Political Career: A member of the Republican Party, Taylor represented District 29 in the Idaho State Senate for four terms, serving from 1998 to 2006. During his tenure in the state legislature, he held leadership roles, including serving as the Majority Caucus Chairman. In 2006, he ran for the Republican nomination to represent Idaho's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives but was unsuccessful in the primary election.

Post-Legislative Career: Following his legislative service, Taylor was appointed as a commissioner to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission in 2007. In this role, he participated in the regulation of utility services across the state. He served on the commission until 2013.
