Jeff Waldstreicher (born December 31, 1979) is an American politician and attorney who serves as a member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 18. A member of the Democratic Party, he has held this position since January 2019.
Waldstreicher's legislative career began in the Maryland House of Delegates, where he served three terms from 2007 to 2019. During his tenure in the House, he was a member of the Economic Matters Committee. In the Senate, he has held leadership roles, including serving as the Vice Chair of the Judicial Proceedings Committee. His legislative work has frequently focused on areas such as consumer protection, criminal justice reform, and civil rights.
Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Waldstreicher was educated in the Montgomery County public school system. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. In addition to his legislative duties, he is a practicing attorney and a member of the Maryland State Bar.
District 18, the constituency he represents, is located within Montgomery County and encompasses several communities, including Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, and Wheaton.
