Jeff Criswell

Jeff Criswell (born October 18, 1965) is a former American professional football player who played as an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons during the late 1980s and 1990s.

Early Life and College Career

Criswell was born in Dallas, Texas. He attended Plano East Senior High School in Plano, Texas, where he excelled in football. After high school, Criswell played college football at the University of Oklahoma for the Oklahoma Sooners. During his time at Oklahoma, he was a key offensive lineman for a highly successful program.

Professional Career

Criswell was selected by the New York Jets in the second round (34th overall) of the 1988 NFL Draft. He spent the majority of his career with the Jets, becoming a consistent starter at offensive tackle.

  • New York Jets (1988–1994): Criswell spent seven seasons with the New York Jets. He quickly earned a starting role and was a reliable fixture on the offensive line, known for his blocking prowess in both run and pass protection. During his tenure with the Jets, he played in 97 regular-season games, starting 65 of them.
  • Washington Redskins (1995): For his final NFL season, Criswell played for the Washington Redskins. He appeared in 9 games for the Redskins, starting all 9.

Throughout his NFL career, Jeff Criswell played in a total of 106 regular-season games, making 74 starts. He was recognized as a durable and dependable offensive lineman, contributing significantly to his teams' offensive efforts.
