Jay H. Neff

Jay H. Neff (November 22, 1854 – May 10, 1915) was an American newspaper publisher and politician who served as the Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, from 1904 to 1906. He was also widely recognized as the owner and publisher of the Kansas City Daily World.

Early Life and Education Born on November 22, 1854, in Ogle County, Illinois, Jay H. Neff received his higher education at the University of Illinois. Following his studies, he ventured into a career that would encompass both journalism and public service.

Career Neff established himself as a prominent figure in the newspaper industry. He relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where he acquired and became the owner and publisher of the Kansas City Daily World. Under his leadership, the newspaper grew into an influential voice within the city.
