Javier Yacuzzi

Javier Ángel Yacuzzi (15 August 1983 – 29 July 2023) was an Argentine professional footballer who primarily played as a left-back or left midfielder. Throughout his career, he was known for his versatility, defensive solidity, and contributions in attack.

Club Career

Yacuzzi began his professional career with Platense in the lower divisions of Argentine football. He later played for Tigre before making a significant move to Arsenal de Sarandí in 2006. His most notable period came with Arsenal, where he was a key player in the squad that achieved historic success.

With Arsenal de Sarandí, Yacuzzi became an integral part of the team that won the 2007 Copa Sudamericana, the club's first major international title. His performances attracted attention, and he remained with the club until 2010.

Following his successful spell at Arsenal, Yacuzzi went on to play for several other prominent Argentine clubs, including Rosario Central, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Defensa y Justicia, and Atlético Rafaela. He also had a brief stint abroad with Manta FC in Ecuador in 2015. Yacuzzi concluded his playing career in the lower divisions of Argentine football.

Death

Javier Yacuzzi passed away on 29 July 2023, at the age of 39, due to complications from a bacterial infection while in Mexico.
