Jasmine Grierson (born c. 1978) is an Australian politician who currently serves as a Member of Parliament in the Victorian Legislative Assembly, representing the electoral district of Pascoe Vale. A member of the Australian Labor Party, she was elected at the 2022 Victorian state election.
Early Life and Career
Grierson is the daughter of Colin Grierson, a former federal Labor Member of Parliament for the division of Darebin. Prior to her election to parliament, she held significant roles in the non-profit and housing sectors. She served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Community Housing Industry Association Victoria (CHIA Vic), where she advocated for affordable housing solutions and represented the interests of community housing providers across Victoria. Her career has largely focused on social policy and housing advocacy, building a strong background in public service and policy development.
Political Career
In the lead-up to the 2022 Victorian state election, Grierson successfully sought Labor pre-selection for the safe seat of Pascoe Vale, following the retirement of the long-serving incumbent Lizzie Blandthorn. She was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly on 26 November 2022, officially commencing her term as a Member of Parliament. As a representative for Pascoe Vale, she focuses on local community issues, social justice, and housing policy within the Victorian state parliament.
