Jarrod Jones (born May 27, 1990) is an American-Hungarian professional basketball player for KK Budućnost Voli of the Montenegrin League and the ABA League. Standing at 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m) and weighing 235 lb (107 kg), he primarily plays the power forward position. Jones also represents the Hungarian national basketball team.
Early Life and College Career
Jarrod Jones was born on May 27, 1990, in Michigan City, Indiana. He attended Michigan City High School, where he was a standout basketball player. After high school, Jones committed to Ball State University, where he played collegiate basketball for the Cardinals from 2008 to 2012. During his senior season (2011–2012), he averaged 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, earning All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) honors. Jones began his professional career in 2012 after going undrafted in the NBA draft.- 2012–2013: He signed with BC Prievidza in the Slovak Extraliga, where he quickly made an impact.
- 2013–2014: Jones moved to France, playing for SPO Rouen Basket in the LNB Pro B.
- 2014–2015: He joined Alba Fehérvár in the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A (NB I/A), winning the Hungarian Cup in 2015. During this period, he also obtained Hungarian citizenship, making him eligible to play for the Hungarian national team.
- 2015–2016: Jones played for Sagesse SC in the Lebanese Basketball League.
- 2016–2017: He signed with Pınar Karşıyaka of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL), where he won the Turkish Cup.
- 2017–2018: Jones remained in Turkey, joining Bahçeşehir Koleji of the TBL (second division) and helping them earn promotion to the BSL.
- 2018–2019: He returned to France to play for Le Mans Sarthe Basket in the LNB Pro A.
- 2019–2020: Jones signed with Darüşşafaka in the Turkish BSL and played in the EuroCup.
- 2020–2021: He had a brief stint with AS Monaco Basket in France before returning to Bahçeşehir Koleji in Turkey.
- 2021–2022: Jones played for Prometey in Ukraine and later for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). With Bahçeşehir Koleji, he won the FIBA Europe Cup in 2022.
- 2022–2023: He returned to Prometey, competing in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League and the EuroCup, winning the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League championship.
- 2023–2024: Jones signed with KK Budućnost Voli of the Montenegrin League and the ABA League, winning both the Montenegrin League championship and the Montenegrin Cup.
National Team Career
