The Jangheung Im clan (Korean: 장흥 임씨; Hanja: 長興 林氏) is one of the Korean clans that share the surname Im (林). Its bon-gwan, or ancestral seat, is Jangheung County in South Jeolla Province, South Korea.
Origin
The Jangheung Im clan traces its origin to Im Ho (임호, 林虎), who lived during the Goryeo Dynasty (918–1392). According to historical records, Im Ho was a prominent official who served the Goryeo court. He was bestowed with the title of Jangheung-gun (장흥군, lit. "Count of Jangheung"), signifying his connection to the Jangheung region. His descendants subsequently adopted Jangheung as their bon-gwan, establishing the Jangheung Im clan.
