James Chisholm (rugby union)

James Chisholm (born 24 October 1995) is an English professional rugby union player who primarily plays as a back-row forward, typically at flanker or number eight. He is known for his powerful ball-carrying, defensive work rate, and breakdown presence.

Early Life and Youth Career

Born in Haywards Heath, England, Chisholm began his rugby journey at an early age. He came through the Harlequins academy system, showcasing significant potential from his youth. He represented England at various age-grade levels.

Club Career

Chisholm made his senior debut for Harlequins during the 2014–15 season. He quickly established himself as a key player for the club, becoming a regular starter in the Premiership and European competitions. His robust playing style and consistent performances have made him a fan favourite at The Stoop. He played a significant role in Harlequins' Premiership title victory in the 2020–21 season, starting in the final against Exeter Chiefs.

International Career

Chisholm has represented England at various age-group levels, most notably with the England U20 team. He was a crucial member of the England U20 side that won the World Rugby Under 20 Championship in 2014, playing alongside many future senior internationals. He has also featured for England Saxons, the country's second national team, gaining experience against international opposition. Despite consistent strong performances at club level, he has yet to receive a full senior cap for the England national team.
