James Bland is an American actor, writer, director, and producer. He is primarily recognized for creating and starring in the digital drama series Giants (2017), which follows the lives of three millennials navigating various personal and professional challenges.
Bland attended Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he began developing his career in film and media. His work on Giants, which premiered on Issa Rae’s YouTube channel and was later distributed by BET+, earned significant industry recognition. The series received multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Digital Drama Series. Bland won several Streamy Awards for the production.
