Jalin Marshall

Jalin Marshall (born May 12, 1995) is an American former professional football wide receiver. He played college football at Ohio State University and West Virginia University before signing with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Marshall subsequently spent time on the practice squads of the Jets and the Cincinnati Bengals and later pursued a brief career in the Canadian Football League.

Early life and high school
Marshall was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended Garinger High School, where he was a three‑year starter at wide receiver and also competed in track and field. During his senior year, he recorded 2,260 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns, earning All‑State honors and attracting recruitment interest from several Division I programs.

College career

Ohio State (2014–2016)
Marshall enrolled at Ohio State University in 2014. As a true freshman, he appeared in 14 games, primarily on special teams, and recorded 10 receptions for 102 yards. In his sophomore season (2015), he increased his production, posting 15 receptions for 274 yards and three touchdowns. The 2016 season saw Marshall contribute 16 catches for 292 yards and one touchdown, while also serving as a key return specialist, returning 21 punts for 171 yards.

West Virginia (2017)
After graduating from Ohio State, Marshall transferred to West Virginia University for his final year of eligibility. He sat out the 2016 season per NCAA transfer rules and played the 2017 season as a senior. At West Virginia, he appeared in all 13 games, starting nine, and recorded 46 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns. His performance earned second‑team All‑Big 12 honorable mention as a receiver.

Professional career

New York Jets (2018)
Following the 2018 NFL Draft, Marshall signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018. He was released during final roster cuts on September 1 but was re‑signed to the practice squad the following day. Marshall remained on the Jets’ practice squad for the remainder of the 2018 season.

Cincinnati Bengals (2019)
On January 14, 2019, Marshall signed a reserve/future contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. He participated in offseason workouts and training camp but was waived during final cuts on August 31, 2019. He was subsequently added to the Bengals’ practice squad but was released in early October.

Canadian Football League
In early 2020, Marshall signed with the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The 2020 CFL season was cancelled due to the COVID‑19 pandemic, and Marshall was released prior to the 2021 season. No further professional engagements have been documented.

Personal life
Marshall is known for his community involvement in Charlotte, including youth sports mentorship programs. He has maintained a low public profile since his most recent professional involvement.
