Jake Connor

Jake Connor (born 24 October 1994) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a stand-off, scrum-half or fullback for the Huddersfield Giants in the Super League. He has represented both England and Great Britain at international level.

Early Life and Junior Career Connor was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. He began his rugby league journey in the junior ranks, playing for his local amateur club, Siddal ARLFC, known for producing several professional players.

Club Career

  • Huddersfield Giants (2013-2016): Connor started his professional career at the Huddersfield Giants, making his Super League debut in 2013. He primarily played in the centres or at stand-off during his first stint with the club.
  • Hull FC (2017-2022): In 2017, Connor moved to Hull FC. It was at Hull where he truly established himself as one of the Super League's most dynamic and unpredictable players. He showcased his versatility, playing extensively at fullback, stand-off, and in the centres. He was a key figure in Hull FC's Challenge Cup victory in 2017, scoring a try in the final against Wigan Warriors. His performances earned him a place in the Super League Dream Team in 2021.
  • Huddersfield Giants (2023-present): In a significant move for the 2023 season, Connor returned to his original club, the Huddersfield Giants, signing a three-year deal.

Representative Career

  • England: Connor made his international debut for England in 2018, featuring in the Test series against New Zealand. He also represented England in the 2019 Great Britain Lions tour.
  • Great Britain: In 2019, Connor was selected for the Great Britain Lions squad for their tour of New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, making his debut for the historic side.
