Jack Burditt

Jack Burditt is an American television writer and producer, widely recognized for his extensive contributions to critically acclaimed comedy series. His career spans several decades, encompassing roles from staff writer to showrunner, and he is particularly noted for his work on popular sitcoms, often collaborating with prominent figures in television comedy.

Career

Burditt began his career in late-night television, notably serving as a writer for The Late Show with David Letterman. He transitioned into sitcom writing, contributing to numerous series throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.

His work gained significant widespread recognition when he joined the writing staff of the NBC satirical comedy 30 Rock in 2006. Over the course of the show's run, he rose to the position of co-executive producer, contributing to its critical success and multiple Emmy Award wins for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Following his tenure on 30 Rock, Burditt continued to be a sought-after writer and producer in the comedy landscape. He worked as an executive producer and writer on Mindy Kaling's The Mindy Project (2012–2017) and later collaborated again with Tina Fey and Robert Carlock on the Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2020), where he served as an executive producer.

In 2017, Burditt co-created the NBC sitcom Great News with Tracey Wigfield, serving as an executive producer for the series. He also served as the showrunner and executive producer for the long-running Tim Allen comedy Last Man Standing (2011–2021). Most recently, Burditt took on the role of showrunner and executive producer for the 2023 revival of the iconic sitcom Frasier, streamed on Paramount+.
