Jaan Rekkor (born November 10, 1958) is an Estonian stage, film, and television actor. He is recognized as a significant figure in Estonian contemporary performing arts, having maintained a prolific career spanning several decades.
Born in Märjamaa, Rekkor pursued professional training in acting at the Drama School of the Tallinn State Conservatory (now the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre), graduating in 1982. Immediately following his studies, he joined the Endla Theatre in Pärnu, where he became a prominent member of the ensemble. While primarily associated with Endla, he has also performed extensively at the Estonian Drama Theatre in Tallinn and other venues across the country.
Rekkor’s theatrical repertoire includes a wide range of leading roles in both classical and contemporary drama. His stage work has earned him critical acclaim and multiple Estonian Theatre Awards for Best Actor.
In addition to his stage career, Rekkor is a well-known figure in Estonian cinema and television. His filmography includes roles in notable productions such as Nimed marmortahvlil (Names in Marble, 2002), 1944 (2015), and the historical thriller O2 (2020). He is also recognized by television audiences for his long-standing role as Rein Pihelgas in the popular crime series Kättemaksukontor (Revenge Office).
For his contributions to Estonian culture, Rekkor was awarded the Order of the White Star, IV Class, in 2001. He continues to be an active performer in the Estonian arts community.
