JDS Narushio (SS-569)

JDS Narushio (SS-569) was a Harushio-class submarine of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Commissioned on March 1, 1993, she served for over two decades before being decommissioned. Narushio, like other submarines in her class, was a diesel-electric attack submarine designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASuW) roles. She was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries at their Kobe shipyard. The Harushio-class represented an improvement over the earlier Yushio-class, incorporating advancements in noise reduction and automation. After her decommissioning, Narushio was likely either scrapped or potentially used as a training hull. Specific details about her operational history and deployments are generally not publicly available due to the sensitive nature of submarine operations.
