James Clifford Hansen (born August 27, 1912, in Jackson, Wyoming; died December 14, 1995, in Jackson, Wyoming) was an American rancher and politician who served as a U.S. Representative from Wyoming. A Republican, he represented Wyoming's at-large congressional district for two terms from 1965 to 1969.
Hansen was born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming. He attended the public schools and went on to study at the University of Wyoming. After his education, he became involved in ranching, managing his family's livestock operations in the Jackson Hole area. He also served as a director of the Jackson State Bank.
Hansen began his political career at the state level. He was elected to the Wyoming State Senate, serving from 1949 to 1955. During his tenure in the state senate, he gained a reputation for fiscal conservatism and advocacy for agricultural interests.
In 1964, Hansen successfully ran for the United States House of Representatives, representing Wyoming's single at-large congressional district. He was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-ninth Congress and was re-elected to the Ninetieth Congress, serving from January 3, 1965, to January 3, 1969. During his time in Congress, Hansen was known for his focus on issues important to his rural constituency, including agriculture, natural resources, and the public lands of the American West. He chose not to seek re-election in 1968.
After leaving Congress, Hansen returned to his ranching interests in Jackson, Wyoming. He remained active in local community affairs until his death in 1995 at the age of 83. He is interred in Aspen Hill Cemetery in Jackson, Wyoming.
