Ján Solovič (8 March 1934 – 10 July 2022) was a prominent Slovak playwright, screenwriter, and dramaturg. Biography
Born in Martin, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia), Ján Solovič completed his studies in dramaturgy at the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava in 1957. After graduation, he began his career as a dramaturg at the Slovak National Theatre (SND) in Bratislava. He later worked as a dramaturg for Slovak Television and served as the head of the dramaturgy department at the Nová scéna theatre in Bratislava.
