Iván González López (born 15 February 1988) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back.
Early Career and Málaga Born in Torremolinos, Málaga, Andalusia, González began his football career in the youth system of his hometown club, Málaga CF. He progressed through the club's academy ranks, making his senior debut for the reserve team, Atlético Malagueño, in the Tercera División. His promising performances led to his promotion to the first team. González made his La Liga debut for Málaga on 13 September 2009, starting in a 1–0 home victory against Racing de Santander. He featured in ten league matches for the senior side during the 2009–10 season.
Real Madrid Castilla and Journeyman Years In the summer of 2010, González transferred to Real Madrid Castilla, the reserve team of Real Madrid, where he spent one season competing in Segunda División B. Following his stint with Real Madrid's reserves, González embarked on a career that saw him play for numerous clubs across various divisions in Spain and abroad.
He returned to Spain to join AD Alcorcón in the Segunda División for the 2011–12 season. His career then took him to Germany, where he signed with 2. Bundesliga side Erzgebirge Aue in 2012. After one season in Germany, he returned to AD Alcorcón for a second spell.
Later Career and International Experience González continued his career primarily in Spain's lower professional divisions (Segunda División B, Primera Federación, and Segunda Federación), interspersed with another period abroad. In 2014, he moved to Greece to play for AEK Athens, contributing to their promotion back to the Super League.
Upon his return to Spain, he played for clubs such as CD Alcoyano, Racing de Santander, Recreativo de Huelva, UD San Sebastián de los Reyes, UE Llagostera, UD San Fernando, and CD Estepona. In 2023, he joined Antequera CF. Throughout his career, González has been recognized for his defensive consistency and considerable experience across multiple professional leagues.
