Isoorientin 3'-O-methyltransferase

Isoorientin 3'-O-methyltransferase (EC 2.1.1.78) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction:

S-adenosyl-L-methionine + isoorientin ⇌ S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine + isoscoparin

This is a methylation reaction in which the luteolin-6-C-glucoside, isoorientin, is converted to isoscoparin. The methyl group is donated by the cofactor S-adenosyl methionine (SAM), which is converted to S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine (SAH).

Classification: This enzyme belongs to the family of transferases, specifically those transferring one-carbon groups (methyltransferases).
