Irina Dvorovenko

Irina Vladimirovna Dvorovenko (born 28 August 1973) is a Ukrainian‑born American former ballet dancer and actress. She is best known for her tenure as a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) and for her subsequent work in television and theatre.

Early life and training
Dvorovenko was born in Kyiv (then part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic). Both of her parents were dancers. She began gymnastics before enrolling at the Kyiv Ballet School at age ten, where she received her formal ballet training.

Professional dance career
In 1990 Dvorovenko joined the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Kyiv as a soloist and was promoted to principal dancer in 1992. She moved to the United States in 1996, joining the American Ballet Theatre. She became a soloist in 1997 and was elevated to principal dancer in 2000. During her ABT career, she performed leading roles in the classical repertoire, including Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Kitri in Don Quixote, and the title role in Giselle. She retired from ABT in May 2013 after a performance as Tatiana in Onegin.

Coaching and teaching
Following her retirement from full‑time performing, Dvorovenko has coached younger dancers at ABT alongside her husband, fellow former ABT principal Maxim Beloserkovsky. The pair also operate a ballet intensive program.

Acting career
Dvorovenko made her acting debut in 2013 as Vera Baronova in the Encores! production of On Your Toes at New York City Center. She subsequently appeared in the Starz series Flesh and Bone (2015), the television drama The Americans (season 5, 2017), and guest‑starred on series such as Forever, The Blacklist, and Power. She is slated to appear in the forthcoming romance thriller Verity.

Personal life
Dvorovenko is married to Maxim Beloserkovsky, a former ABT principal dancer. The couple has a daughter, Emma Galina, born in 2005. Dvorovenko became a naturalised United States citizen.
