Irene Palaiologina (died after 1390) was a Byzantine empress by marriage to Andronikos IV Palaiologos. She was the daughter of Prince Basil of Trebizond and Irene of Trebizond.
Irene married Andronikos IV in 1373, solidifying an alliance between the Palaiologos dynasty and the Empire of Trebizond. Andronikos IV, at the time, was the eldest son and heir apparent of Emperor John V Palaiologos.
In 1376, Andronikos IV, with Genoese support, successfully deposed his father, John V, and became emperor. Irene thus became empress consort. Their reign was short-lived, as John V was restored to the throne in 1379. Andronikos IV continued to challenge his father's authority until his death in 1385.
After Andronikos IV's death, Irene entered a monastery. She is known to have been alive as late as 1390, when she, along with her son John VII, received a letter from the Patriarch of Constantinople. She played a role in supporting her son, John VII Palaiologos, in his brief usurpation of the throne in 1390. Her later life is largely undocumented.
