Description
Inquisitor arctatus is a marine gastropod mollusk belonging to the family Pseudomelatomidae, commonly known as turrids. The species possesses a fusiform shell that can reach a length of up to 49.8 mm and a maximum diameter of approximately 13.1 mm. Detailed morphological characteristics beyond basic shell dimensions have not been extensively documented in the primary literature.
Distribution
The species is known from the southwestern Indian Ocean, specifically off the coasts of Zululand to Transkei in South Africa. Additionally, occurrences have been recorded in the marine waters surrounding the Philippines, indicating a broader Indo‑Pacific distribution.
Habitat
Inquisitor arctatus inhabits marine environments; however, precise ecological preferences such as depth range, substrate type, and feeding behavior remain insufficiently described in the accessible scientific records.
