Infratest dimap is a German research institute specializing in electoral and political opinion polling. Established in 1996, it is a joint venture between the market research company Kantar (formerly TNS Infratest) and dimap Gesellschaft für Markt- und Politikforschung mbH. The institute is headquartered in Berlin.
The organization is most recognized for its long-standing partnership with ARD, Germany’s association of public broadcasters. Infratest dimap is responsible for providing data, exit polls, and seat projections during federal, state, and European elections for ARD’s news programs, such as Tagesschau and Tagesthemen.
A key product of the institute is the "ARD-DeutschlandTrend," a regular survey that monitors political sentiment, party preference, and public approval of government performance in Germany. The institute utilizes various data collection methods, including computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) and online surveys, to gather representative samples of the German electorate.
Beyond electoral research, Infratest dimap conducts social and policy research for government agencies, political foundations, and non-governmental organizations. Its work focuses on providing empirical data regarding societal trends, public administration, and political communication.
