IndiHome (abbreviated from Indonesia Digital Home) is a home telephone, internet, and Internet Protocol television (IPTV) service owned by Telkomsel, a major Indonesian telecommunications provider. Since 1 July 2023, IndiHome has been fully operated by Telkomsel, following its transfer from Telkom Indonesia, which remains Telkomsel's majority shareholder.
History
IndiHome was launched in 2015 as a replacement for Telkom's earlier broadband service, Speedy (which had itself replaced TelkomNet Instan in 2004). The service was introduced as part of Telkom's broader initiative to expand fiber-optic-based digital services to Indonesian households. By May 2015, IndiHome had reached 350,000 customers across Indonesia, with Telkom reporting up to 2,000 new orders per day throughout 2015.
In June 2023, Telkom announced the integration of IndiHome into Telkomsel, effective 1 July 2023, consolidating fixed broadband and mobile broadband services under a single entity.
Services
IndiHome offers three main service packages:
- Single Play: Fiber-optic internet connection (Internet on Fiber / High Speed Internet), with or without a landline telephone.
- Dual Play: Fiber-optic connection bundled with internet and home telephone (Voice) services.
- Triple Play: Fiber-optic connection bundled with internet, home telephone, and IPTV (branded as MAXStream TV) services.
Additional features include digital music portal services and home automation capabilities.
Technology
IndiHome primarily uses Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology, delivering internet access via fiber-optic networks. In areas where fiber-optic infrastructure is not yet available, the service may still utilize existing copper cable networks. The service is available only in locations where Telkom's fiber or copper network infrastructure is present.
