"Ikaw" ("You") is a song written and recorded by Filipino singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino, released on August 23, 2014, as the lead single from her album All About Love. The song became the most played Original Pilipino Music (OPM) song of 2014 and, as of 2017, was the second most viewed music video by a Filipino female artist on YouTube, accumulating over 100 million views as of June 2020.

Background and Composition

The song was written by Constantino, with vocal production and arrangement by Jonathan Manalo, and musical arrangement by Ria Villena-Osorio. It was produced by Villena-Osorio, Constantino, Manalo, Champ Lui Pio, and Tim Mejia, and released under Star Music Philippines. The track is a pop ballad with a length of 4 minutes and 44 seconds.

Music Video

The official music video was released on August 23, 2014, and served as the unofficial prenuptial video of Constantino and her then-fiancé Yan Asuncion. It was directed by Cristhian Escolano.

Chart Performance

On June 12, 2017, following the launch of the official Billboard Philippines charts, "Ikaw" debuted at number 4 on the Catalog Charts, a chart for local songs released over three years prior that still generated significant sales and streaming activity.

Re-recordings

Constantino re-recorded the song in 2021 to serve as the official soundtrack of a film of the same name starring Janine Gutierrez, Pepe Herrera, and Pilita Corrales. In October 2024, she released "Ikaw (2024 Remastered Version)" to commemorate the song's 10th anniversary.

Awards and Nominations

The song won Song of the Year at both the PMPC Star Awards for Music (2015) and the Awit Awards (2015). It was also nominated for Best Music Video at the PMPC Star Awards for Music, and for Favorite Music Video and Favorite Mellow Video at the Myx Music Awards (2015).

Cover Versions

  • Daryl Ong recorded a cover that was later used in the teleserye FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.
  • Korean singer Yohan Hwang covered the song in Korean under the title "Neoege (너에게)" for the Philippine broadcast of the Korean drama series Love in the Moonlight.
