Idrsko is a village in the Municipality of Kobarid in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is situated on the left bank of the Soča River, in the western part of the country. Historically, the area was part of the Austrian Littoral, and it is now included in the Gorizia Statistical Region.
The village is perhaps best known for its proximity to the area where the Battle of Caporetto (also known as the Twelfth Battle of the Isonzo) took place during World War I. The conflict, which occurred in October and November 1917, involved Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces, with significant German support for the latter. The landscape around Idrsko still bears traces of this historical period.
The parish church in Idrsko is dedicated to Saint Thomas, and its structure reflects various architectural styles through different periods of construction and renovation. The village cemetery also holds historical significance, containing graves of Austro-Hungarian soldiers who fell during World War I. The local economy traditionally relied on agriculture and some tourism due to its natural surroundings and historical sites.
