Ian Morris (born November 30, 1961) is a retired track and field athlete from Trinidad and Tobago who specialized in the 400-meter sprint. He was a prominent figure in international athletics during the late 1980s and early 1990s, representing his country in multiple Olympic Games and World Championships.
Morris is best known for his performance at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. In the 400-meter semifinals, he recorded a personal best time of 44.21 seconds. This time established a national record for Trinidad and Tobago that remained unbroken for twenty years. In the event final, Morris finished in fourth place, narrowly missing an Olympic medal. He also competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, where he reached the semifinals of the 400 meters and participated in the 4x400-meter relay.
On the global stage, Morris achieved significant success at the 1989 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Budapest, where he won the silver medal in the 400 meters. He was also a consistent competitor in the outdoor World Championships in Athletics, reaching the finals in 1987 (Rome) and 1991 (Tokyo), finishing sixth and seventh respectively.
Throughout his career, Morris contributed to the success of the Trinidad and Tobago relay teams. He was part of the 4x400-meter relay squads at various international meets, including the Pan American Games and the Commonwealth Games. His career is characterized by his consistent presence in the top tier of global long-sprint competitions during his active years.
