Ian Clark (born August 23, 1991) is an American professional basketball player who most recently played as a shooting guard/point guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and overseas leagues. He is noted for his three‑point shooting ability and his role as a complementary scorer on several NBA teams.
Early life and education
Ian Clark was born in Wichita, Kansas, and grew up in Wichita and the surrounding area. He attended Wichita East High School, where he played high school basketball and earned all‑state honors.
College career
Clark enrolled at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and played for the Belmont Bruins from 2009 to 2013. Over his four‑year collegiate career, he averaged 12.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game and helped the Bruins win two Atlantic Sun Conference championships and earn NCAA tournament berths in 2011 and 2012.
Professional career
NBA Development League
After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, Clark signed with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League (now the NBA G League) for the 2014–2015 season. He posted averages of 16.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, earning a spot on the D‑League All‑Star team.
Golden State Warriors (2015–2017)
Clark signed a 10‑day contract with the Golden State Warriors in March 2015, later converting it to a standard contract. He remained with the Warriors for the 2015–16 and 2016–17 seasons, contributing as a bench scorer and three‑point specialist. He was a member of the Warriors' 2017 NBA championship team.
Utah Jazz (2017–2018)
In July 2017, Clark signed a two‑year contract with the Utah Jazz. He appeared in 59 games, averaging 6.1 points per game and shooting 38.9% from three-point range.
