Hungry Heart (film)

Hungry Hearts is a 2014 Italian drama film directed by Saverio Costanzo, starring Adam Driver and Alba Rohrwacher. The film follows the intense and often disturbing journey of a young couple in New York City whose relationship unravels after the birth of their child.

The plot centers around Jude (Driver) and Mina (Rohrwacher) who meet and fall in love. However, their relationship takes a dramatic turn when Mina becomes convinced that her newborn son, Enzo, is exceptionally sensitive and must be raised according to extreme dietary and lifestyle restrictions. Her increasingly obsessive behavior and rigid beliefs regarding Enzo's health create a deep rift between her and Jude, who becomes increasingly concerned about their son's well-being and begins to question Mina's sanity.

The film explores themes of parenthood, obsession, mental health, and the complexities of love and control within a relationship. Both Driver and Rohrwacher received the Volpi Cup for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively at the 71st Venice International Film Festival for their performances. The film also received generally positive reviews for its intense atmosphere and compelling performances.
