Huh Soon-young

Huh Soon-young (Korean: 허순영; born January 28, 1974) is a South Korean former short track speed skater. She was a prominent member of the South Korean national short track team in the mid-1990s, known for her contributions to relay events.

Career

Huh Soon-young gained international recognition for her performance in short track speed skating relay races. Her career highlight came at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, where she was part of the South Korean team that won the gold medal in the women's 3000 meter relay. This victory marked a significant achievement for South Korea in the sport.

Beyond the Olympics, Huh also achieved success at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships. She was a gold medalist in the 3000 meter relay at the 1994 World Championships held in Guildford, United Kingdom, and again at the 1995 World Championships in Gjøvik, Norway. Her consistent performance in team events solidified her reputation as a valuable asset to the South Korean national team during her active years.
