HuffPost Live

HuffPost Live was an online live‑streaming news and talk‑show platform operated by The Huffington Post (rebranded as HuffPost), a digital media company headquartered in New York City. Launched in June 2012, the service provided continuous live programming that combined breaking‑news coverage, interviews, political commentary, and cultural segments. Content was produced by HuffPost staff and featured a rotating roster of hosts, journalists, and guest contributors.

The channel was part of a broader strategic push by AOL (which acquired The Huffington Post in 2011) to expand its video‑media offerings. It streamed free of charge on the HuffPost website, through mobile applications, and via third‑party platforms such as YouTube and Roku. Programming included flagship series such as “HuffPost Live: The Conversation,” “The Change Project,” and “HuffPost Live: Nightly News,” among others.

Despite initial growth, HuffPost Live faced challenges common to digital‑first video ventures, including competition from established cable news networks and the need for sustainable advertising revenue. In the mid‑2010s the platform underwent schedule reductions and staff reshuffling. Ultimately, the service was discontinued, with reports indicating that the live‑streaming operation ceased in 2020. Following its closure, HuffPost continued to produce video content for its website and social‑media channels, but without a dedicated live‑broadcast schedule.
