Hotel Green is a historic hotel complex located in Pasadena, California, United States. Constructed in phases beginning in 1887, the original building was designed by architect Frederick Roehrig in the Queen Anne style. The hotel originally served as a luxury resort for visitors to the Southern California region and became a social hub for the area's elite during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The complex expanded over the ensuing decades, adding the "East Wing" (also known as the "Pavilion") in 1912 and the "Annex" in 1926, which incorporated elements of Mediterranean Revival architecture. In 1969, the property was incorporated into the Pasadena Hilton hotel chain, and the historic structures were renovated and repurposed for modern hospitality use while retaining their architectural significance.
Hotel Green is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as part of the Pasadena Historic District, recognizing its contribution to the architectural and cultural heritage of the region. The building's preservation reflects broader historic preservation efforts in Southern California, illustrating the evolution of resort tourism and urban development in the early 20th century.
