Honey (Katy B album)

Background and release
After the commercial success of her first two albums, Katy B began recording new material in 2015. The project was announced in early 2016, and the cover artwork—featuring a close‑up of a honeycomb—was revealed alongside the release date.

Composition and collaborations
Honey incorporates elements of house, UK garage, and dance‑pop. The record includes collaborations with several artists, most notably:

  • KDA and Tinie Tempah on the single “Turn the Music Louder (Rumble)”
  • Craig David on the title track “Honey”

Production credits are shared among a number of producers associated with the UK dance scene, including KDA and other contributors affiliated with Rinse Records.

Promotion and singles
The lead single, “Turn the Music Louder (Rumble)”, was issued in July 2015 and reached number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. “Honey” (featuring Craig David) was later promoted as a follow‑up single, receiving airplay on contemporary radio stations.

Critical reception
Upon release, Honey received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. Reviewers highlighted Katy B’s continued commitment to club‑oriented sounds while noting that the album’s production sometimes favored mainstream pop aesthetics over the underground textures of her earlier work.

Honey entered the UK Albums Chart at number 8 and remained on the chart for several weeks. The album also charted in a limited number of other territories, reflecting Katy B’s established fan base in the United Kingdom and parts of Europe.
