Honda Stream

Honda Stream (Japanese: ホンダ・ストリーム) is a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) / station wagon manufactured by the Japanese automaker Honda from 2000 to 2014. It was positioned as a sporty, car-like 7-seater (later 6-seater) based on the Honda Civic platform.

Overview

First Generation (RN1–5; 2000–2006)

Launched in Japan on 27 October 2000 and in Europe in 2001, the first-generation Stream was based on the Civic platform with an additional 100 mm in length to accommodate a third row of seats.

Engines:

• 1.7L D17 – 130 PS (96 kW) – 4-speed automatic, FWD or 4WD
• 2.0L K20A – 154 PS (113 kW) – 5-speed automatic with sequential mode, FWD
• 2.0L K20B (Absolute model, Dec 2003) – Direct injection lean-burn engine, coupled with CVT. This was Honda's first direct-injection petrol engine; no other Honda used this technology until the Earth Dreams engines in 2012.

A facelift was applied in September 2003. The sportier Stream Absolute variant debuted in December 2003 with a direct-injection 2.0L K20B engine.

Second Generation (RN6–9; 2006–2014)

Officially presented on 13 July 2006. Based on the same platform as the contemporary Civic, offering car-like handling in a compact MPV package.

Engines:

• 1.8L R18A – 140 PS (103 kW) – 5-speed automatic (paddle shift on RSZ/RST)
• 2.0L R20A – 150 PS (110 kW) – CVT (FWD) or 5-speed automatic (AWD)

Key variants:

• X – 7-passenger, 1.8L
• G / Gi – 7-passenger, 2.0L
• ZS – 7-passenger, 1.8L or 2.0L (FWD only)
• RSZ – Sportier trim, 6 or 7 seats, firmer suspension, rear anti-roll bar
• RST – 5-passenger (third row removed), lightweight 17-inch wheels, sport-tuned suspension
• TS – 5-passenger variant

Production ended in Japan and Singapore in 2014, and in Malaysia in 2015. The Stream was succeeded by the Honda Jade in Japan, China, and Singapore.
