Hideo Hashimoto (橋本 英郎, Hashimoto Hideo; born 21 May 1979) is a Japanese former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent the majority of his career in Japan’s J‑League system, notably with Gamba Osaka, and earned fifteen caps for the Japan national team between 2007 and 2010.

Hashimoto debuted for Gamba Osaka’s senior side in 1998. He became a regular starter from 2001, initially as a right‑side midfielder and later as a defensive midfielder, forming a core part of the team under manager Akira Nishino. He contributed to Gamba Osaka’s most successful period, which included the 2005 J1 League title, the 2007 J.League Cup, the 2008 and 2009 Emperor’s Cups, and the 2008 AFC Champions League triumph, followed by a third‑place finish at the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup.
After leaving Gamba Osaka in 2011 due to injury‑related limited playing time, Hashimoto signed with Vissel Kobe in 2012. He helped the club win promotion back to J1 after a single season in J2.
