Hesar, Takestan

Hesar (Persian: حصار, also Romanized as Ḩeşār) refers to a village located within the [[Ramand-e Jonubi Rural District]], in the [[Ramand District]] of [[Takestan County]], [[Qazvin Province]], [[Iran]].

As of the [[2006 Iranian census]], the village had a population of 250 individuals residing in 56 families. Like many rural communities in the region, its economy is primarily agricultural.

Etymology

The name "Hesar" (حصار) is a common Persian place name meaning "fortress," "enclosure," or "walled area." Its use for a settlement often suggests a historical connection to fortifications or a naturally protected location.

Geography

Hesar is situated in the western part of Qazvin Province, an area known for its agricultural lands. The village is part of Takestan County, which is characterized by its plains and proximity to various irrigation sources, supporting its agricultural economy.
