Herbert Wieninger

Herbert Wieninger (born 1962) is an Austrian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He was active primarily in the 1980s and early 1990s, featuring for several prominent clubs in the Austrian football league system, including multiple stints in the top-tier Bundesliga.

Club Career Wieninger began his professional career with SK Vorwärts Steyr, where he emerged as a promising talent. His performances led to a move to Grazer AK (GAK), a club with a rich history in Austrian football. He played for GAK from 1985 to 1989, making a significant number of appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga and establishing himself as a solid defensive player.

Following his time at Grazer AK, Wieninger transferred to Wiener Sport-Club, where he continued to play in the top division from 1989 to 1991. After two seasons in Vienna, he returned to SK Vorwärts Steyr for a second spell, contributing to his original club. Later in his career, he also played for ASK Voitsberg.

International Career Herbert Wieninger represented Austria at various youth international levels, showcasing his potential as a young player within the national setup.
