He also competed in team free rifle events, achieving 5th place in both 1912 and 1924.
At the national level, Huttunen won five Finnish national championship gold medals in shooting: in free rifle standing (1909, 1924), free rifle three positions (1910, 1913), and free pistol (1919). He competed in the ISSF World Shooting Championships, placing 5th in the free rifle team event in 1914 and 7th in free rifle standing in 1924.
