Havneholmen, Copenhagen

Havneholmen is a peninsula located in the harbor of Copenhagen, Denmark, situated within the Vesterbro/Kongens Enghave district. It is positioned off Kalvebod Brygge and is situated across the harbor from the Islands Brygge neighborhood.

Historically, the area was utilized for industrial and maritime purposes. Its modern development began in the early 2000s as part of a larger urban renewal project intended to transform former industrial zones of the South Harbour (Sydhavnen) into residential and commercial districts. The area is now characterized by contemporary architecture and its proximity to the waterfront.

Notable landmarks on Havneholmen include the headquarters of Aller Media, designed by PLH Arkitekter, and the Gemini Residence, which consists of two former seed silos converted into residential apartments by MVRDV and JJW Arkitekter. The peninsula is also home to various corporate offices and a hotel.

Infrastructure and connectivity were central to the development of Havneholmen. It is connected to the Islands Brygge neighborhood on the opposite side of the harbor via the Bryggebroen, a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that opened in 2006. The area is adjacent to the Fisketorvet shopping center and is served by the Copenhagen S-train network and the Copenhagen Metro via nearby stations. Commercial and recreational facilities, including harbor baths and canal-side walkways, are integrated into the peninsula's layout.
