Harrison Tower Apartments (also known as the West Tower, and formerly the Portland Center Apartments II) is a 25-story residential high-rise building located at 222 SW Harrison Street in downtown Portland, Oregon. It is part of a three-building complex with a Mid-Century modernist design, designed by the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill.
History
The tower was completed in 1965 and upon completion was the tallest building in Portland, a title it held until 1969 when it was surpassed by the Bank of California Tower. It was originally built and operated as an apartment building under the name Portland Center Apartments II.
Between 2005 and 2008, the building was converted into condominiums and renamed the Harrison Condominiums. Following a subsequent sale of the complex, the owners continued leasing the units as apartments rather than selling them as condos. The name was eventually changed to reflect this continued rental usage, becoming the Harrison Tower Apartments.
Architecture and Design
The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, a prominent international architectural firm. It features a Mid-Century modernist design aesthetic. The complex consists of three towers: Harrison West (25 stories, 243 ft / 74 m), Harrison Tower Apartments & Villas (24 stories, 234 ft / 71 m), and Harrison East (22 stories, 223 ft / 68 m).
Features and Amenities
The building contains 185 residential units offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. Amenities include an enclosed parking garage, a swimming pool with spa and sauna, a 24-hour fitness center, a community lounge, a virtual golf simulator, a billiards room, a pet spa, complimentary bicycle storage, and in-unit washer and dryer. The building is pet-friendly with no weight restrictions.

The building is situated in the Southwest Waterfront district of downtown Portland, within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and parks. It has a Walk Score of 97 ("Walker's Paradise") and a Transit Score of 87 ("Excellent Transit").

The property is owned and managed by Sequoia Equities, Inc.
Notable Events
In December 2014, an electrical fire caused approximately $100,000 in damages to the building. In January 2015, the downtown Portland apartment high-rise was sold for $53 million.
